2020 --> 2021

2020 --> 2021

⏰ I wanted to write some thoughtful piece about 2020 being over and the leaving it in the rearview mirror, but I just can't. ⠀⁣
⠀⁣
It's been such a weird year. ⠀⁣
⠀⁣
I'm thinking about the friends from Olympia who've left us. ⠀⁣
⠀⁣
I think about closing the gallery and how weird that was. ⠀⁣
⠀⁣
I think about how hard it's been on my child, losing sophmore year of high school to instead be on the computer in the basement—that's fine when you're 20 and are doing it for fun, it's not when you are 15 and need the interconnectedness of your friends and the excitement of strangers in the hallway of high school.⠀⁣
⠀⁣
It's exhausting.⠀⁣
⠀⁣
We were lucky in my house to not get sick, to stay healthy and fed. ⠀⁣
⠀⁣
But so many weren't. The politics and the lost of nuance in the world have me really bummed out; it's all one-side-or-the-other. It's all you suck or they suck. It stinks. And it hurts.⠀⁣
⠀⁣
I wish things were better.⠀⁣
⠀⁣
I'm wishing it all to be better for all of you, 2021.⠀⁣
